https://dalek.zone/videos/watch/e5495b9d-d0e2-4f9b-a595-ed7839346c29 Halloween’s getting closer, so I’m keeping the dark blues rolling to help get you in the spooky spirit! 🎃👻🎸 For this track, I’m playing an old vintage Fender lap steel through a Gamechanger Audio AUTO Reverb pedal, into this cool Square Amp made from a repurposed vintage radio. The combination really helps dial in that haunting, otherworldly tone! I’ve got the lap steel tuned to a minor tuning, and here’s where things get interesting… I’ve set the AUTO Reverb pedal so that whenever I play notes above a certain pitch, it automatically cranks up the reverb, giving those higher melody notes an extra ethereal, ghostly quality. It’s a really fun way to make the melody float above the darker, bluesy undertones. 👻 If you want to dig deeper into creating these kinds of dark blues sounds using minor tunings, slide guitar, lap steel techniques, and creative approaches to tone, definitely check out my guitar lesson platform at https://JustinJohnsonGuitar.com! I teach all of these styles, techniques, and tuning methods in great detail, along with a huge library of guitar lessons covering just about everything guitar-related, for all skill levels, from absolute beginners to advanced players.
