If you've practiced this section, you might have realized that, after pulling the nose, sometimes the screen scrolls as usualy, but sometimes it doesn't. If the screen doesn't scroll, it means Herman doesn't show up when moving to the right. So we can enter the monkey head area before he shows up! The only consistent way I know to manipulate the scrello is clicking on the bottom-right corner of the screen as soon as you enter the clearing. Keep clicking there until you see the bottom part of the slope near the totem. Click there, and wait until the screen stops scrolling. Then, pull the nose, read the note, and enter the monkey head area. Now wait until Guybrush stops moving, and press Backspace to stop reading the note. Finally, click on the same spot (or very close to you clicked on to enter the monkey head area. The idea is that, if you click on the same spot, Guybrush will automatically enter the monkey head area without moving. If he moves, the screen will scroll, Herman will show up, and the run will be over. After entering the monkey head area, pick up the little idol. Don't click anywhere until Guybrush is done picking it up, or you'll softlock the game. Leave the area, and talk to Herman. You'll lose the item slide, but that's OK: you won't need it anymore. There might be a faster way to consisently manipulate the scroll. If you find one, let me know!
