On the acoustic guitar, I’m playing a more traditional Delta Blues style of slide, combining fretted notes with slide techniques to get that raw, old-school blues sound. On the lap steel, I’m taking more of a blues lead guitar approach, using the slide to bring out those expressive melodies and lead lines. If you want to learn these techniques, whether on acoustic guitar, electric guitar, or lap steel, definitely check out my guitar lesson platform at https://JustinJohnsonGuitar.com! I have extensive video lesson series dedicated to both Delta Blues slide guitar and lap steel, and I actually teach this exact tune, note for note, in my series “The Guitarist’s Guide to Lap Steel.” That series is specifically designed to bridge the gap between traditional guitar playing and lap steel. So if you’ve ever been curious about diving into the world of lap steel, I’ll show you how to take the guitar knowledge and techniques you already have and apply them to lap steel, making the whole learning process feel much more natural and intuitive. You might be surprised how much of what you already know translates directly to lap steel! 🎸 Learn guitar & lap steel: https://JustinJohnsonGuitar.com And if you want to check out my Signature Ceramic Guitar Slide, which I use on both instruments in this recording, you can find that at https://JustinJohnsonStore.com!
