If ALAN JACKSON was DELTA BLUES | Slide Guitar Cover of "Remember When" https://dalek.zone/videos/watch/a73502ff-e2dd-478e-afab-cbc9a62686b2 Downtown Nashville was absolutely swarming with people last night, for Alan Jackson's farewell concert, and that inspired me to send out this Delta blues slide guitar version of Alan Jackson's, "Remember When." While arranging this one, I accidentally stumbled onto a new guitar tuning that I've never used before: E – B – C# – G# – B – E. It's essentially an Open E tuning with the D string lowered to C#, allowing me to play the bass notes of the minor vi chord while keeping the vocal melody on the upper three strings with the slide. That combination lets me play the chord changes with my thumb on the lower strings while performing the melody as a solo slide guitar arrangement. I always love it when a song inspires a completely new musical approach, and this tuning opened up a lot of exciting possibilities.
