The Otis Bilocation with the new graphics

Finish the three trials as normal. Then, talk to Stan. Now, go the village and talk to Otis. You'll have to say "The Governor's been kidnapped!" followed by "If I let you out, would you join my crew?" Doing so makes the cutscene you get when freeing him longer, giving you enough time to get to part two before the cutscene is over. It might be possible to get the item slide state to part two without talking to Otis about joining your crew, but nobody's managed to do so (not even in practice sessions). Now, go to the store, and get the note of credit. Then, buy the ship, recruit Carla, and recruit Meathook. From there, go the scumm bar, get the mugs and the grog, go to the store, and get the item slide state. Open the inventory, and select the melting mug. You can do so on your way to the prison by scrolling the inventory all the way to the bottom (hold the down arrow key) and then pressing the right arrow key once. Enter prison, click on the lock and, while Guybrush is walking, open the inventory, press "U" (to use), and then press a number (like "2", for instance). Pressing a number will select the mug without closing the inventory. Now scroll the inventory to the top (hold the up arrow key) until you select the map. Close the inventory, and click on the lock to use the mug there. Now, very quickly, open the inventory, press "L" (to look) and then press Enter to look at the map. Instead of pressing "L" and then Enter, you could also press Tab to look at the map, but doesn't always work. And, if you miss, it's almost guaranteed you won't make it to part two. The reason you need to look at the map is that, while Guybrush is using the mug with the lock, you'll be able to move Guybrush around, but hotspots will be disappear. That means you won't be able to interact with anything, including the doorway. After looking at the map, hotspots will appear once again, and you'll be able to click on the doorway and leave. Do so but, before leaving, open the inventory and select the magnetic compass by positioning the cursor on it. Status check: if, before leaving the room, you hear the sound of Guybrush pouring the grog, you can no longer get the item slide to part two. If you hear this sound after getting to the next screen, you're doing fine. Now, as soon as Guybrush leaves the room, quickly, press Tab near the bottom-right corner of the screen so Guybrush starts walking. Pressing Tab to walk right after a screen has loaded is more reliable than clicking (this game ignores clicks sometimes, for some reason). Immediately open the inventory, and press Tab so Guybrush starts reading the compass. Reading the compass pauses the cutscene of Guybrush freeing Otis, giving you more time. There'll be a moment where the screen starts scrolling and Guybrush will stop reading the compass. That's OK, keep going to the right and, as soon as you click on the archway, open the inventory once again and press Tab to read the compass. Once Guybrush gets there, press Backspace to stop reading the compass and quickly click on the archway once again. Status check: if you hear the sound of Otis' cell opening and see Guybrush stop in place, you can no longer get the item slide to part two. Now, while Guybrush is crossing the archway, position the cursor near the bottom-right corner on the screen (you won't be able to see the cursor so, at first, you might want to simply move it to the bottom-right corner). As soon as you gain control of Guybrush, press Tab so Guybrush starts walking, immediately open the inventory and press Tab to start reading the compass. Once the screen starts scrolling, forget about the compass and simply get to the archway. For an extra timesave in part two, while Guybrush is walking to the archway, open the inventory and position the cursor on the map (but don't click on it!). Status check: if, before getting to the dock, you hear the sound of Otis' cell opening, you can no longer get the item slide to part two. On the other hand, if the parrot says "Wow. And to think I used to dring that stuff..." with Otis' voice while Guybrush is crossing the archway, you're doing fine. Hold backspace to skip the cutscene with Stan and press "3" to choose "Have you come to be on my crew?". At this point, Otis is in two places at the same time: he's breaking out from prison, but he's also at the docks. And he's going to start playing both sequences at the same time! He'll say "Hey, I could never pass up a chance to make some easy money", like he does on the dock, and will start walking like he does when breaking out. The goal here is to finish the cutscene at the dock before Otis stops to thank you for freeing him from prison (and then calling you a sucker). If you try it by normal means, you might realize that... it's impossible. By normal means, that is. But we're going to add yet another trick to the mix. Keep holding period to make it through the conversation as quickly as possible until Carla appears and says "Yeah, we are getting paid for this, right?". Then, hold "2" and, as soon as Guybrush starts saying "Glad you could make it, Carla.", start pressing "+" to increase the subtitle speed. This will pause the game so Otis will freeze in place while on his way to thank Guybrush. But Guybrush will keep on talking! After he's done, you can stop pressing "+", press period to make Guybrush's line disappear, and quickly hold Backspace to skip the cutscene before Otis starts talking. Congratulations! You've made it to part two!
