Parts of the foundation had collapsed, the floors were rotting away, the roof was failing, and years of moisture had damaged almost every part of the structure. Instead of tearing it down, the owner decided to save as much of the original cabin as possible and rebuild everything that could no longer be repaired. The restoration begins with demolition and structural repairs before moving into a complete floor rebuild, foundation work, roof replacement, plumbing, insulation, interior framing, pine walls, and new flooring. Along the way, original wood and sections of the old floor are preserved wherever possible. What started as a barely standing cabin slowly becomes a livable home again — while keeping as much of its original character as the building will allow. 99 Projects https://www.youtube.com/@99Projects 00:00 Empty Since the 1930s 01:20 Stripping Back the Interior 02:30 The Collapsed Foundation 06:50 The Floor Has to Go 09:46 Redesigning the Layout 13:30 Racing the Rain to Finish the Roof 15:18 Pouring the New Foundation 17:23 Filling the Gaps With Fieldstone 20:55 Plumbing Through an Old House 27:43 Pine Walls Over an Uneven Floor 30:57 Saving the Original Floors 32:13 What Could Be Saved Sat, 03 Oct 2026 17:56:19 GMT https://validator.w3.org/feed/docs/rss2.html PeerTube - https://dalek.zone https://dalek.zone/lazy-static/avatars/958461d1-6a1e-41b1-962e-d8f79c4e0f1b.png https://dalek.zone/videos/watch/11386b9b-9863-4ab7-85bb-9f7166e942a5 All rights reserved, unless otherwise specified in the terms specified at https://dalek.zone/about and potential licenses granted by each content's rightholder.
